The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum’s annual Warbirds Ball which was originally postponed due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hannah has been rescheduled to take place at the museum on Nov. 7.

The theme is “Are the Stars Out Tonight?” and will feature many stars — some you know and some you don’t.  The enchanted evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception and silent auction, followed by dinner from Chef Matt Cohen and music from the incredible Jeremy Davis and the Equinox Jazz Orchestra. Mike Manhatton of WTOC-tV is this year’s emcee.

All proceeds from the gala helps to support the museum and its mission. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information on how to be part of the event of the year, contact Susan Eiseman at (912) 748-8888 ext. 124.  Make it your night to shine.

Activated in 1942 in Savannah, the 8th Air Force was an important strike element in World War II and remains an active force today. The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum honors the Mighty 8th’s legacy by preserving the stories of courage, character and patriotism displayed by the men and women of the 8th Air Force from World War II to the present.

The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum is open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. except New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The museum is in Pooler at 175 Bourne Ave., off I-95, exit 102. For more information, please visit www.mightyeighth.org or call (912) 748-8888.
