As part of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s annual meeting, a group of local volunteers were inducted to lead the Effingham County YMCA branch.
David Crawley was installed as chairman and Eva Bowman, Daryl Brown, Mike Spake, Theresa Stiltner, Moses Toole and Rick West were added to the board of management during the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s 157th Annual Meeting on March 20 at the Richmond Hill City Center.
Along with welcoming its volunteer leaders, the Y recapped its recent work, looked ahead to the future and saluted retiring board members, exceptional volunteers and staff.
The YMCA announced it had raised $611,329 in its annual Priceless Gift campaign. The funds raised benefit the Y’s financial assistance program to provide YMCA programs and memberships to children, adults and families in its service area of Effingham and five other counties. In 2011, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia provided $2,273,609 in financial assistance to more than 19,000 people.
The Y also inducted its incoming corporate board of directors: Judge Louisa Abbot, Andy Brodmann, Houstoun Demere, Jenny Gentry, Pastor Herb Hubbard, Diana Morrison, Allan Reynolds, Melody Rodriguez-Ortiz, Alex Salgueiro, Ryan Schneider and Leon Zipperer.
