Mr. and Mrs. Keith Cornell announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lorene Cornell, to Clay Peavy, son of Mrs. Barbara Peavy and the late Mr. Terry Peavy.  

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Ernest Boyd and the late Mrs. Blanche Lorene Boyd and the late Mr. and Mrs. Max Cornell. She graduated from Effingham County High School and has a Bachelor of Science in education from Armstrong Atlantic State University and a Master of Science in education from Georgia Southern University.  She is employed by the Effingham County Board of Education as the reading recovery teacher leader.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Neda Mock and the late Mr. Christopher Mock and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Peavy. He has a sister, Carla (Jack) McCutchen, niece Peyton and nephew Jackson. He is a graduate of Groves High School and is the owner of Built South Construction Co.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. at Rincon United Methodist Church. All local friends and family are invited to attend.
