Rev. and Mrs. Denny Martinez of Silverlake, Wash., are blessed to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Abigail Naomi, to Joshua Stephen Porter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Porter of Marlow.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Martinez of El Cajon, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Feickert of Troutdale, Ore. She is a home school graduate and attends Phagan’s School of Cosmetology in Vancouver, Wash.

The groom elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Porter of Marlow, Mrs. Birdie Holloway and the late Stephen T. Holloway Sr. of Wilmington Island, the late Kenneth Sessions and the late Phebe Jaudon Sessions of Savannah. He is the lyricist and lead vocalist of the Christian rock band, “Showbread,” currently recording its third CD with Tooth and Nail Records. He is also the author of the book, “The Spinal Cord Perception.”

The wedding will be held on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. in Longview, Wash. The couple will be honored at a reception on Feb. 2, 2008, at New Providence Baptist Church in Guyton at 6 p.m. All friends and relatives are warmly invited.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mixon of Guyton announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amy Cierra Mixon, to Landon Harry Snooks, son of Steven and Harriett Snooks of Springfield. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hill, Sr. of Eatonton, Ga., and the great-granddaughter of James Harmon Sr. of Fort Valley, Ga. Cierra is a 2012 graduate of South Effingham High School and a 2017 graduate of Armstrong State University with a bachelor of science in Radiologic Science with a focus in cardiovascular science. Cierra is employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.
