Mr. and Mrs. Robert and DeeDee Odom of Springfield are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Britney Elizabeth Odom, to Joseph Samuel Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott and Patsy Morris of Rincon.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. John T. Shipes Sr. of Springfield, Betty and Grant Upchurch of Clyo and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Betty Odom of Atlanta. She graduated from Effingham County High School in 2008 and is attending Armstrong Atlantic State University. She will graduate in 2012 with a degree in Nursing. She is employed by The Learning Treehouse Preschool and Day Care.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Joseph and Reba Morris Sr. of Crisp, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Cleo Perry of Savannah. He graduated from Effingham County High School in 2004. He is employed by Southeastern Air Conditioning.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the Clyo United Methodist Family Life Center in Clyo. A reception will immediately follow.
