Mr. K. Michael Smith of Savannah and Mrs. Michele D. DiGiovanni of Guyton are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alana Michele Smith, to Andrew Vincent Grosse, son of Angela Malone Grosse of Tybee Island. 
 
The bride elect is the grandaughter of the late Mary B. and Carlie L. Smith of Garden City and the late Betty V. and Mallie A. Denmark of Savannah. Alana graduated from Effingham County High School in 2000 and from the University of Georgia in 2004 where she earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. She is the Graphic Designer for Monroe Marketing in Savannah. 
 
Andrew is the grandson of Mary O. Grosse and the late Richard L. Grosse of Tybee Island, and Latrell B. Malone and the late John R. Malone of Tybee Island. Andrew is a 2000 graduate of Pebblebrook High School and a 2005 graduate of Charleston Southern University where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology/Pre-med. He is also a 2010 graduate of South University where he earned his Masters of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He is employed as a Physician Assistant at Chatham Orthopaedics in Savannah. 
 
A December wedding is planned at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Savannah.
