The Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center held its 3rd Annual Sizzling Summer Celebration and Miniature Horse Expo on Saturday at the Fairgrounds in Springfield. The fundraiser included a car show, a mini horse costume competition, pony rides and live music.
FETC offers adults and children with mental, physical and emotional disabilities weekly equine assisted activities.
“We provide therapeutic riding for the mind, body and spirit,” said FETC President and CEO Bonnie Rachel Gentry during a demonstration of types of skills participants learn at the center.
Along with the mini horses and vendors, visitors could see a Civil War re-enactment and, climb a rock wall and ride a mechanical bull.
