Disneys live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast opened in theaters this past weekend, and it already broke a few records, according to Time magazine.

The film, which tells a tale as old as time about beauty Belle falling in love with a beast, made $170 million during its debut, Time reported, breaking the record for most money earned by a G- or PG-rated film. Finding Dory previously held the record with $135 million.

Beauty and the Beast also became the top-earning film of 2017 so far and the most successful March release ever, according to Time.

Disney is already making plans for other live-action movies, like Aladdin (TBD), The Lion King (TBD) and The Little Mermaid (TBD), according to MoviePilot.

That list includes a live-action version of Mulan the 1998 animated story of a girl who disguises herself to get in the Chinese military but with a twist: no music whatsoever.

According to MovieFone, the films director Niki Caro said the new movie wont have any songs.

Yes, from what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children, Caro told MovieFone.

Sean Bailey, Disneys president of motion picture production, told Vulture something similar about the movie.

Mulan is clearly an empowered-female story but we can also do something new in this reimagining, make it a little more muscular, stronger, with touch of Ridley Scott, Bailey told Vulture.

This could change, though, since the movie isnt set to be released until 2018, according to Mashable.
