In the not-too-distant future, we could call camping glamping, if a new app gets its way.

Bloomberg recently featured the new app called Tentrr, which is a free iPhone app that makes camping a much easier experience. Through the app, prospective campers can book and vet private campsites across major U.S. cities.

Oh, and to make it even cooler, Tentrrs spots are all customed designed by the apps creator, Michael DAgostino, an investment banker from Connecticut.

As Bloomberg reported, you can expect a few cool items at your campsite, like:

  • Hand-sewn tents from Colorado set on an elevated deck with chairs.
  • Brazilian wood picnic tables.
  • Portable camping toilets, fire pits and grills.
  • Air mattresses to sleep on, rather than conventional sleeping bags.
The app beta-launched with 50 campsites in upper New York state, according to Bloomberg.

Now, the app will include more than 150 spots across the Northeast.

DAgostino told Bloomberg that he plans to add sites in the San Francisco-Yosemite corridor, the American Southwest, and counterclockwise around the perimeter of the U.S., all within a few hours of major metropolitan cities, until all of the countrys top-50 hubs are served.
