The Pregnancy Care Center in Rincon will have an open house and ribbon cutting Sept. 28 from 5:30-7 p.m.

The center’s director, Anna Gianeskis, board members and volunteers are eager to show off their new location and the services they offer.

The Pregnancy Care Center is a non-profit, faith-based ministry that has been serving the Effingham community for the past seven years. It is located just south of Citizens Bank on Columbia Avenue in Rincon. This past March, the group moved from its former location in the same complex to a larger facility next door where it has more room to meet the needs of young women who may be facing unplanned pregnancies.

Among the services provided at the Pregnancy Care Center are free pregnancy tests, peer counseling, maternity clothes and baby clothes as well as other baby items such as diapers, wipes and formula, which are donated to the center. All of these services are free and confidential.
