The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors on Thursday decided to cancel the “Effingham Royale Awards Banquet” scheduled for Aug. 28.

The move was prompted by the lingering COVID-19 pandemic.

The chamber will soon release plans for all of its in-person events and how it will honor outstanding businesses in lieu of the awards banquet.
