RINCON -- The Rincon Police Department responded to the 200 block of Lakeside Place  just after 3 a.m. Sunday after being dispatched to a domestic violence call. 

Officers attempted to make contact with a barricaded subject who was known to possess weapons. 

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team assisted in making entry into the house and clearing it with a drone.. 

The suspect had fled the premises and was gone for several hours. He was spotted back in the neighborhood and was apprehended without further incident. 

 The suspect, 49-year-old Christopher Girod, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault DVA
