Youth in Effingham County will learn about of ATV safety March 12.

Rachel Hoeft, ADM outreach coordinator, will present at 6:45 p.m. about the importance of wearing a helmet and offer other ATV safety tips.

Motor vehicles, including ATVs, accounted for 17 percent of fatal injuries to youth on U.S. farms between 1995 and 2000.

Hoeft partners with Farm Safety 4 Just Kids to offer safety education for youth. Farm Safety 4 Just Kids was founded 25 years ago by Marilyn Adams after the death of her son in a gravity flow grain wagon accident. The organization promotes a safe farm environment to prevent injuries and death by educating youth.

ADM is committed to helping producers and their families live and work safely on American farms.
