The City of Springfield and the Fall Festival Planning Committee have decided to reschedule the 2016 Springfield Fall Festival to Nov.  18-19.

The entertainment lineup for the festival will be the same as previously advertised. Confederate Railroad will perform on Friday, Nov. 18 at 8:30 p.m. with opening artist Melissa Lee performing at 7 p.m.

Joe Diffie will be performing at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 with opening act Hannah Dasher at 7 p.m. and a local talent artist at 5 p.m.

The Car Show, Wing Eating Contest and Corn Hole Tournament will also remain on the schedule for Saturday.

Advertising for the new festival dates will begin as soon as possible and the committee will continue to heavily promote the event over the next few weeks leading up to the event.

The committee stated that they understand that these new dates may not work for all of their vendors and guests and that they apologize for any inconvenience or hardship that this may cause.

“Cancellation of the festival was unexpected and we have tried our best to create a solution that will work for everyone involved,” said Community Development Director Erin Phillips. “All vendor fees will be applied to the new festival dates. We will confirm via email or phone with all our vendors in the next weeks. Those that are unable to take part in the festival on Nov. 18 or 19, may request a voucher towards the 2017 festival.”
