Armstrong State University senior shortstop Alexis Mercer was named to the NFCA all-American second team, the second straight year the organization has given her national accolades.

The former South Effingham star was a first-team selection last year. Her 60 career home runs are a Peach Belt Conference record. For her senior season, the Pirates shortstop hit .418 with 14 homers, 41 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.
