Effingham County junior Zach Dotson was named the Region 3-AAAA South player of the year in voting conducted by subregion coaches.

Dotson, who also played the outfield and first base, was one of seven pitchers selected to the all-subregion team and was joined by teammates Dylan Scott and Evan Jarman on the first team.

Josh Brant and Josh Moreland were named as honorable mention to the all-region team.
