Effingham County High School’s Zebrandon Gant participated in the Georgia Games recently in Atlanta and won the Iron Man Award for his weight class.

He wrestled all three styles, folkstyle, freestyle and Greco, over the two days of competition. Gant placed second in Greco and third in freestyle and folkstyle. Because he averaged out with the highest places in his 32-man bracket, he won the Iron Man Award.

This was the first time Gant wrestled in a freestyle and Greco tournament.

Isiah Royal placed first in folkstyle, third in freestyle and fourth in Greco, just missing out on the Iron Man honors for his weight class.

Mitchell Waters placed second in folkstyle and third in freestyle and Greco in the eighth-ninth grade division.
