Basketball

Men’s

Demontrez Austin (South Georgia State College) — Austin had just four points and seven rebounds in a 106-66 rout of Faith Baptist Post Graduate Academy. He is averaging 10.9 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. He also has blocked 22 shots.

DeQuincey Bennett (Johnson and Wales University) — A senior, Bennett is averaging 11.2 points per game and has started 13 games for the Wildcats.

Jakeenan Gant (University of Missouri) —The 6-foot-8 Gant has started two games, scoring 7.3 points and pulling down 2.3 rebounds per game.

Tanner Reid (East Georgia College) — Reid has played in 15 games, starting eight, and is scoring 6.1 points per game. He is averaging 2.3 rebounds and one assist per game.

DeAundray Rhett (South Georgia State College) — Rhett had 16 points and seven boards, along with two blocks, in the win over Faith Baptist Post Graduate. In 14 games, Rhett is scoring 7.1 points and pulling down 4.8 rebounds per game.

Ryan Wilkins (Middle Georgia State College) — Wilkins had 15 points to lead the Knights past Mobile (Ala.). He is averaging 13.7 points per game and is shooting 41.6 percent from 3-point range.

Jay Wright (University of Louisiana) — Wright had 20 points, going 8-of-11 from the field, to lead Louisiana-Lafayette past Troy 91-64. Now a starting guard, Wright has played in 11 games, starting 10 of them for the Ragin’ Cajuns. He is scoring 8.8 points per game while averaging 2.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Jakayvea Akins (Georgia Southern University) — Akins has played in 10 games and is averaging 2.1 points per game. She has five steals and nine assists for the Lady Eagles (3-8).

Hannah Anderson (Converse College) — A sophomore forward, Anderson has scored four points and has three rebounds in six games for the Valkyries (1-7).

Tianna Germain (Kennesaw State University) — A freshman guard for the Owls, Germain has appeared in six games and is averaging 1.3 points per game for KSU, which is 11-3.

Machala Raymonville (Armstrong State University) — Raymonville has played in 10 games for the Lady Pirates (4-7). She is averaging 4.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game and also has 12 steals.

Aliyah Williams (LaGrange College) — In nine games, Williams has scored seven points for the Panthers (6-4).

Wrestling

Fletcher Smith (Anderson University) — The former South Effingham standout ran his winning streak to five matches with a pinfall and a 2-0 decision in matches against Brewton-Parker and Huntingdon (Ala.) on Monday. Smith, wrestling at 197 pounds, is now 5-2 on the season.
