Josh Reddick (Oakland Athletics) — Reddick has two hits in 11 at-bats in the American League Division Series against Detroit, including a solo homer in the A’s 6-3 Game 3 win Monday. He also threw out the Tigers’ Victor Martinez trying to score in Detroit’s Game 1 win.

Men’s cross country
Jesse Campbell (Georgia Regents University) — Campbell and the Jaguars will run at the Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday.
Blaine Ketchum (Tennessee Temple University) —The Crusaders will run again Oct.12 at West Georgia.
Football
Tovar Allen (Alabama State University) — Allen is the starting right tackle for the Hornets (4-2), who have won four in a row after beating Texas Southern 34-2. The Hornets had 200 yards rushing and 262 yards passing. Alabama State will host Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
Drew Brindley (LaGrange College) — A freshman defensive back, Brindley dressed but did not play in the Panthers’ 50-27 win over NC Wesleyan. LaGrange (2-2) will host Maryville (Tenn.) on Saturday.
Justin McIntyre (LaGrange College) — A sophomore linebacker, McIntyre had four tackles and a sack against the NC Wesleyan Bishops in the Panthers’ 50-27 win.
Stephen Wilson (LaGrange College) — Wilson is a freshman offensive lineman for the Panthers and dressed but did not play in the win over NC Wesleyan.
Josh Mercer (North Carolina State) — A freshman running back, Mercer did not play in the Wolfpack’s 28-13 loss to Wake Forest. N.C. State (3-2) will host Syracuse on Saturday.
Women’s soccer
Sydnie Van Curen (Georgia Southern University) — The junior forward had a shot attempt in a 3-1 loss to Appalachian State and a shot in a 2-1 loss to Western Carolina. The Eagles (2-7-2) will host Francis Marion (S.C.) on Thursday.
Marissa Hamm (University of South Carolina Beaufort) — The sophomore did not play in a 2-0 loss to Thomas and played but did not register a shot in a 1-0 loss to Embry-Riddle. The Sand Sharks (4-7-1) will visit Webber International (Fla.) on Friday.
