When pitching for South Effingham, going to the playoffs was a constant for Austin Chambliss. Now, he may have a chance to pitch in the postseason in professional baseball.

Chambliss’ Tri-City Dust Devils, a Class A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, are in first place in the Northwest League’s Western Division at 33-36, one game ahead of Boise.

The regular season ends Wednesday against Boise.

In Chambliss’ last outing, he pitched a perfect eighth inning in his team’s 9-1 win over Spokane Monday.

For the season, he is 4-3 with a 5.67 ERA. He has appeared in 21 games, pitching 27 innings.
Chambliss has struck out 37 batters and walked nine. Opponents are hitting .284 against him.

Josh Reddick
Josh Reddick continues to lead the Class A Greenville Drive in batting with a .308 average.

In his recent game, he hit a two-out home run to right field to give the Drive a 10-9 lead against Augusta on Tuesday. The Drive went on to win 12-9.

For the season, Reddick has 18 home runs and 71 RBIs.

The Rincon resident and former Windsor Forest pitcher earned a win for the Class AA Wichita Wranglers on Monday, going five innings and allowing only one run against Arkansas.
