Effingham County's Merritt Evans and Avery Elenbaas combined to blank the Brunswick Pirates 5-0 at Rebel Field on Thursday.

Evans was credited with the victory. He pitched six innings, allowing two hits. Elenbaas recorded two strikeouts and allowed one hit in the final frame.

Christian Campbell, Jordan Rahn, Jerid Stokes and Dustin Johnson each accounted for an RBI. They also collected four of the Rebels' five hits. Ryan Harley got the other one.
