The Effingham County girls tennis team swept Brunswick, and the boys posted a 4-1 win on Thursday.
Girls top singles seed Ashley Jenkins blanked Bigal Patel 6-0, 6-0. No. 2 seed Chandel McDonie beat Jessie Hamilton 6-1, 6-3 and No. 3 seed Emily Waltz beat Paula Rocha 6-2, 6-4. The top doubles team of Victoria Webb and Hayley Hall downed Megan Fried and Carlye Taylor 7-5, 6-4. The No. 2 team of Rebekah Rahn and Tayla Mondello won in a walkover.
No. 2 boys seed Matt Buhler beat George Lott 6-2, 6-2 and No. 3 seed Kerry Wright beat Brailsford Nightengale 6-2, 6-2. Brunswick’s Michael Hall beat Daniel Jordan 6-4, 6-0 at No.1 singles.
Bryan Jenkins and Zach Whiten breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles over Patrick Chimiliski and Chris Nutgrass.
Brian Schmidt and Zack Bennett won by forfeit at No. 2 doubles.
