ECRP Fall Signups
Effingham County Recreation and Parks will take signups for start smart soccer for boys and girls ages 2 1/2 and 3 until Aug. 15. The fee is $55.
Registration for start smart football for ages 3 and 4 will be held until Aug. 15. The fee is $15.
Softball Tryouts
The 8 and under South Effingham Angels traveling softball team will be holding tryouts on Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. at Ulmer Field in Springfield. If you have questions, call Krissy Arnsdorff at 667-1685 or Chuck Smith at 308-0661.
Chain Baseball Signups
The Chain Baseball Academy is accepting registrations for the upcoming fall baseball league for the 13-14u and the 15-18u divisions. The season will start on Sept. 13. Teams will practice during the week and play Saturday double headers. Chain Baseball will do an evaluation of all players that register on Aug. 30 10 a.m. at Chain Field in Garden City. In addition, Chain Baseball will comprise a fall college showcase team consisting of local high school juniors and seniors.
