This is the first Straight Superior rating for a seventh grade band at ECMS.

The ECMS eighth grade Band received Straight Superior ratings on stage and a Superior rating in sight reading, earning the highest rating out of all bands performing at our District 1 Festival. This is the fourth consecutive year the ECMS eighth grade band has received this honor. The ECMS bands are led by band director Tony Murray.

In addition, on Monday, March 15th, the ECMS choirs went to District 1, Large Group Performance Evaluation at Georgia Southern University on March 15 where the sixth grade Choir received Superior ratings for both prepared songs and sight reading and scored an overall superior rating.

The ECMS seventh and eighth grade Chorus received an overall Excellent rating with a Superior in sight reading. The choirs were scored in the areas of tone, pitch, rhythm, diction, and interpretation. A Superior rating is the highest score that a choir can receive.  Both ECMS choirs are led by choral director Jenny Russell.
