EES students donate to Ronald McDonald House

Ebenezer Elementary School students collected items to be sent to the Ronald McDonald House in Savannah. These items are used to help families that have overnight stays at the house due to critically ill children. EES has been a sponsor of this project for the past two years.

They also participate in the Ronald McDonald House Pop Top Tab Pandemonium. Students will collect the pop-tops throughout the school year.

The Effingham County Board of Education approved a $203 million fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday night, reflecting an 11% increase over last year. The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
