Springfield Elementary School Principal Terri Johnson was a special guest for a reception at the Governor’s Mansion on July 31.

Johnson was one of 13 principals from around the state to serve on the Governor’s Education Advisory Board for Principals during the 2012-13 school year. The board met quarterly with Gov. Nathan Deal to provide feedback on his education initiatives and give a “boots on the ground” perspective on education in Georgia.

Each year, Gov. Deal appoints four education advisory boards – one each for teachers, principals, superintendents and local school board members. Johnson attended a reception thanking the board members for their service.
