A bomb threat was called in this morning for both local high schools. Students were evacuated from their campuses to area middle and elementary schools.

As of 9:55 a.m., Superintendent Randy Shearouse sent a "ConnectEd" message to parents stating, "The schools have been cleared and all students are returning to class at Effingham County High School and South Effingham High School. Classes will resume as normal."
