Guest readers brought the world of books and reading to Effingham County pre-kindergarten students last week during Pre-K Week.

Readers included U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, state Rep. Bill Hitchens, state Sen. Jack Hill, state Rep. Jon Burns, Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie, county commissioners Vera Jones and Phil Kieffer, school board members Lamar Allen, Vickie Decker, Robert Grant and Beth Helmly, Superintendent Randy Shearouse, Becky Long and Bea Saba of the Live Oak Public Library System.
