Nancy Rachel Quinney and Ernest Marvin Aids Jr.

Ernest Marvin Aids Jr. and Nancy Rachel Quinney Aids celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11 at The Banquet Room in Rincon with family and friends.

The couple was married on Sept. 27, 1958, at Calvary Baptist Chapel in Savannah by the Rev. John S. Wilder, who also married Rachel’s parents.

Ernie worked at Union Camp for approximately 14 years. He retired from Savannah Electric in 2004 after 33 years of service. Rachel transported kindergarten children for the Little Learners Kindergarten for two years before beginning work at the Chatham County Board of Public Education from which she retired in 2000 after 28 years.

The have three children, Marvin (Brenda), David (Susan), and Jimmy (deceased). Their grandchildren are Ryan and Faith Aids of Denver, Co., Ashlie, Abbie, Kristin and Joshua Aids of Rincon.

They enjoy spending time with their children, grandchildren and friends. They also enjoy gardening and traveling with friends. They attend Port Wentworth United Methodist Church.
