Clayton and Emma Lee Dasher

The family of Clayton and Emma Lee Dasher invites all relatives and friends to join in celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

A casual drop-in reception will be hosted by their daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Dana Lee, Dana and Evan Smith. The event will be held Sunday, Sept. 29 from 2-5 p.m. at the Smiths’ home at 5107 Highway 17 South in Guyton, across from Marlow Elementary School.

Clayton and Emma Lee were married on Sept. 28, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Hugh Kepley officiated.

Clayton retired from CSX Transportation after 45 years. Emma Lee is a retired registered nurse. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. She worked at Memorial Hospital, Effingham County Nursing Home, Moss Oaks Nursing Home, home health and several Effingham County doctor’s offices.

They both continue to be active members of Zion Lutheran Church. They also are active members of several community organizations — Effingham County Fair Association, Marlow chapter of Effingham County Farm Bureau and Historic Effingham Society.

Clayton and Emma Lee request that no gifts be given but instead your presence and your blessings as they celebrate 50 years together.
