Mr. and Mrs. G. Merrill Durrence of Decatur will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 6.

They were married Dec. 6, 1958, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Springfield.  Pastor Donald Hanberry officiated.

Mrs. Durrence, the former Jo Ann Seckinger is the daughter of the late Perry and Dorothy Seckinger of Springfield.  Mr. Durrence is the son of the late Earnest and Ora Durrence of Glennville.

Merrill and Jo Ann have three children, Gene Jr. (wife Susan) of John’s Creek, Susan Balsavage (husband John) of Suwanee, and David of Boulder Creek, Calif. They have five grandchildren, Aaron, Olivia and Alison Durrence, and Avery and Isabel Balsavage.

To honor this special occasion the family with kids and grandkids will celebrate this weekend in Blue Ridge.
