Timothy “Elwin” Phillips Sr. and Verna Holland Phillips celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 8.

The couple married in Vero Beach, Fla., in 1961. They have two children, Tim Phillips, his wife Lisa and their daughters Chloe and Gracelyn, and Tyler Phillips and his wife Gloria and their sons TJ and Avery.

The couple is celebrating on a trip to North Carolina.
