Mrs. Bertha (Pinkney) Gaines was born March 21, 1906, to Henry and Lillian Pinkney.

She is one of 14 children of which 12 have preceded her in death. The mother of 10 children of which seven have preceded her in death, Ms. Gaines lives in Clyo with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garvin Jr. She was married to a World War II veteran, Mr. Frank Gaines, who also preceded her in death.

She is a member of Union Springs Methodist Church Inc. where she serves as mother of the church.

Let’s all wish Mrs. Gaines a happy birthday on Saturday, along with her remaining children, Mrs. Pearlene G. Garvin and James E. Gaines Jr. of Clyo, Mrs. Mary L. Cooke and Mrs. Edith Palmer of Savannah; her grands; her great-grands; and her great-great-grands.
