Chamber spicing up 'A Night in Effingham'

SPRINGFIELD -- Big changes are coming to “A Night in Effingham.” 

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is adding a free street party with live music, kids’ activities, vendors and food trucks to its popular food-sampling event in downtown Springfield.

 

The Chamber will present its 10th annual Taste of Effingham on March 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Local on Laurel, 606 N. Laurel St., in Springfield. Guests can mix and mingle while sampling food from the area’s best restaurants and locally produced wines from Butterducks Winery. Beer and soft drinks are also included.

 A limited number of tickets are available for this indoor event at $20 per person. They can be purchased at www.effinghamcounty.com or by calling (912) 754-3301

 

The new Downtown Street Party, open to the public, kicks off at  6 p.m. and will feature live music by Flashback, the Party Band, while guests browse local shops, vendors and food trucks along Laurel Street, which will be closed to traffic between Madison and Franklin streets until 10 p.m. Admission is free. 

There will also be children’s activities available. Food, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

 

Flashback, the Party Band, performs party classics from the best of Motown, beach music, and disco, as well as current hits. Performing throughout the Southeast since 1997, Flashback has built a reputation for an interactive and energetic performance that gets guests dancing to song after song.
