A new Effingham home for Overcoming by Faith
Rincon Campus
The new Effingham home for Overcoming by Faith. The Savannah-based church now has more than 4,000 members.
On July 4, a crowd of church goers sang and clapped their hands in praise as a group of Worship singers led by Diane Temple, wife of Pastor Ricky Temple, sang on a stage with microphones in hand. They gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Overcoming by Faith facility at 131 Goshen Rd. Ext. in Rincon. This is the second campus for the 4,000 plus member church from Savannah.

“I love the spirit of the Rincon area because everyone is so very nice and friendly,” Diane Temple said. “We have many members who have moved into the area and we are thrilled to be given the opportunity to meet and greet so many more new people here!”

As the singing and worship ended, Pastor Ricky Temple, greeted the congregation, welcomed many new visitors and gave a brief word about how the Overcoming by Faith Family was enthused about opening new doors to the Rincon/Effingham area. After a few more acknowledgements, the Temples invited all the attendees to enjoy a free July 4th barbecue with all the trimmings (barbecue ribs, barbecue chicken, baked beans, icy treats, and more) and to take a tour the new Rincon Northwest Campus facility.

The new church facility’s sanctuary seats more than 200 people and includes a raised staging area, musician sections, tall, decorative curtains with stage lights and many other multimedia technologies.

The second wing of this new facility is called OBF Kidz and serves as a Children’s Church and Family Worship Center. The lobby is decorated with murals of kids playing, a parent check-in area and welcome station, and it even has tiny tables and comfy chairs where kids can sit down and play. The classrooms are each themed and playfully designed. Flowers, butterflies, Bible verses, and inspirational quotes can be found in each room.

“The Rincon campus has an amazing new Children’s Church Wing,” said Jackie Bell, youth administrator at Overcoming by Faith. “I think the OBF Kidz Wing is an exciting area for children where they can explore the Word of God in a colorful kid-friendly atmosphere. The classrooms are open and create a bright and adventurous atmosphere. Kids can really get excited about learning about Jesus Christ here.”

Overcoming by Faith Ministries’ Worship Services in Rincon are held on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. Children’s Church and childcare are available during services.
