Berea gets new full-time pastor
09.30 Berea SMC
Rev. Walter Gaskin

Some may have noticed the new sign and other upgrades to the little white church at the curve of Highway 30 near Kolic Helmly Road. These have been made as Berea Southern Methodist Church starts a new outreach with their new full time pastor, Rev. Walter Gaskin.

After many years, they are proud to introduce him into the area.

Rev. Gaskin is a Clemson graduate with a Bachelor of Science in physics and graduate courses at the University of Tennessee.

After answering his call into the ministry, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and pastoral study from Southern Methodist College in his hometown of Orangeburg, S.C. He and his wife, Christine, moved to Garden City in January.

Berea Southern Methodist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing church. Services on Sunday include worship at 9:30 a.m. followed by Sunday school. They also meet for prayer at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Southern Methodist Church has the background of John Wesley’s Methodist tradition and is not affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
