Project 10:45
2008 0418Project10450025

Recently, more than 80 Effingham teens and 40 adults volunteered for the third annual GAP Project 10:45 (which is taken from Bible verse Mark 10:45).

This annual event rallies area youth to join forces with the local men’s mission group God’s Apostles Providing.

The volunteers completed a variety of tasks at 21 homes of senior citizens, including: exterior painting, trees and shrubs trimmed, yards raked, lawns mowed, flowers planted, etc.

The group of more than 120 met early on Saturday morning at the Guyton Christian Church and enjoyed a hardy breakfast sponsored by United Way and then they took off to Springfield, Rincon, Eden, Guyton and everywhere in between.

After the long activity they rallied at First Baptist Church of Rincon for pizza and a concert.  Project Coordinator Keith Turner reported on some of the homeowners comments and how both the recipient of Project 10:45 and the volunteers benefited from this day of giving.
