Christian singer and songwriter Brent Vernon will perform at Rincon United Methodist Church on March 27 at 7 p.m. This is a free concert for the whole family. A love offering will be received. The public is invited to enjoy a covered dish supper at 6 p.m. before the show.

Vernon is a writer, illustrator and performing musician. Since the summer of 1995, he has toured in 48 states, Canada, Australia and the Caribbean in concerts in schools, churches, coffee houses and a myriad of other venues.

Over the last decade, Vernon has developed an unusual ability to communicate with people of all ages by keeping his message clear, his methods current, and his presentations polished.

His approach is simple, often using only a keyboard to accompany his warm vocal stylings. Vernon’s music, namely the song “If You’re Not In It,” from his latest CD, “A Thousand Pictures,” was well received on Christian radio stations across the nation, topping the charts in several markets. He currently has four CDs to his credit.

Vernon is also a ventriloquist. With the growing popularity of his friend “Sam,” many of his performances have taken a decidedly kid-friendly turn, with terrific response.

“The theme of this ministry has always been that of surrender,” Vernon said. “I deeply believe that God requires every part of who we are. Our goals, our motivations, our passions, our secrets, our talents — they must all be placed in the hands of God. It is only then that we find peace. He is our peace.”
