SAVANNAH — In the swelling buzz of private premiere party plans and shopping, the fun and drama of “Sex and the City” are already playing out in Savannah. It appears that “Sex and the City” devotees are going all out to join in the fun of finding out if Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) marries Mr. Big (Chris Noth). Will Charlotte (Kristin Davis) finally have her baby? Is Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) still happy in her marriage? Will Samantha (Kim Cattrall) finally settle down?

Overheard was one Savannah Mall shopper, who took to heart the “Sex and the City” tagline — “Get Carried Away.” While checking out at Dillard’s, one bubbling middle-aged shopper was making her purchases and spilling over with frenzied anticipation. She was making preparations to take part in a lively premier party with friends, themed to dress in character to celebrate the movie’s release.

Described as fun and dramatic, “Sex and the City” opens in Savannah Regal Cinema near Savannah Mall on May 30. The movie buzz is running through Savannah Mall, especially at Steve & Barry’s, featuring the “Sex and the City” T-shirts (priced at $8.98 or less). Savannah Mall marketing manager Senea Crystal gets into the playful spirit, authorizing corridor window displays with the movie poster’s energizing fuchsia pink and royal blue colors.

“Sex and the City” T-shirts at Steve & Barry’s are from Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line, Bitten. Steve & Barry’s offers ultra-affordable fashions — everything priced $8.98 or less — from high-profile celebrities including Ms. Parker, Amanda Bynes, Venus Williams and Laird Hamilton.

Check with Savannah Mall customer service in person or by calling (912) 927-7467 for Savannah Mall rewards program details and how to obtain free movie tickets. Additional information on the movie is available at New Line Cinema’s official movie Web site
