SAVANNAH — The Savannah Square Retirement Community is hosting a Pearl Harbor Remembrance.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Japanese navy against the U.S.’ naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, which later resulted in the U.S. becoming militarily involved in World War II.

The Savannah Squares Pearl Harbor Remembrance and Charity Event will take place on Dec. 7, from 5-8 p.m. with delicious food and entertainment at the Savannah Squares Community located at 1 Savannah Square Drive.

Dance the night away to music from Jill Smith and Chuck Courtenay. Tickets are only $30 each and all proceeds benefit the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum.  Please RSVP by Dec. 1.  For more information or to purchase tickets call the Savannah Squares at (912) 927-7550.

Activated in 1942 in Savannah the 8th Air Force was an important strike element in World War II and remains an active force today.

The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum honors the Mighty 8th’s proud legacy by preserving the stories of courage, character and patriotism displayed by the men and women of the 8th Air Force from World War II to the present.
