“Grandma” is trying and doing the best she can but it is hard to provide care for three grandchildren, ages 6-10. The children’s mother died and the father long ago took off for parts unknown. This circumstance left three children, who need daily care and provisions.

Grandma is just scraping by in providing shelter, food and clothing. There is nothing left for extras, no Christmas money available to buy even simple gifts for these youngsters. Grandma gets a small Social Security check and very limited public funds for the children. These funds always run out before the end of the month.
