SPRINGFIELD — From Billy Joel and Tom Petty to Neil Diamond and Jimmy Buffet, the Mars Theatre will have it all Friday night as part of “A Night in Effingham.”

“A Taste of Effingham” starts at 6 p.m. but the live show kicks off at 8 p.m.

“There should be a little bit of music that everyone will enjoy,” said Allison Newberry, theatre director. “I’m sure everyone will be singing along.”

Expect to hear classic songs from the 1970s and 1980s from greats like John Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, the Doors, Neil Young and Glenn Frye. There may even be a few Elton John songs thrown in.

Brian La Blanc, the lead singer for One Stop Pony Band, has created the most unique band, capturing the voices of many of your favorite musicians. La Blanc changes his look and attitude to personify many of the great singers.

“This is a wonderful event for downtown Springfield”, Newberry said.

Taste of Effingham tickets cost $15 and available through the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.

Reserved seating tickets for the show cost $40. Beer and wine will be available.
