On Dec. 2, Troop 165 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Theodore Alexander Knox at Rincon United Methodist Church.

Knox is the son of Robert W. Knox Jr. and Margaret Knox. He has an older brother, Trey Knox.

Knox attended South Effingham High School and graduated on May 18, 2007. He is now attending Savannah College of Art and Design and is studying broadcast design.

During his scouting career Knox held the leadership positions of senior patrol leader, patrol leader, bugler and troop guide.

Knox attended many campouts and scouting functions in his scouting career. Some interesting places he visited and camped were Camp Bob Hardin in Saluda, N.C.; Camp Daniel Boone in Boone, N.C.; Patriots Point, Charleston, S.C.; Parris Island, S.C.; Camp Bud Schiele, Rutherfordton, N.C.; and Camp Blue Heron in Riceboro.

An important part of his scouting career was being elected to the Order of the Arrow.  This is an honor that you cannot earn, but is bestowed upon you by fellow scouts. After attaining the rank of a First Class Scout and being active with his troop for two years, Knox went through his ordeal at Camp Blue Heron and became a member of the Tomo Chi-Chi Lodge #119, Savannah.

His Eagle Scout project was to make improvements to the recreational area belonging to Rincon United Methodist Church. He constructed a swing set and sandbox for the children to enjoy.

Knox completed 28 merit badges, hiked 27 miles, kayaked/canoed 24 miles and camped 89 nights on his trail to Eagle Scout. On March 27, 2007, Knox passed his board of review for Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
