The third annual Olde Effingham Days Festival drew an estimated crowd of 8,000-10,000 people to Springfield during the weekend.
Clarence Morgan, chairman of the Olde Effingham Days committee, said the number of attendees to the Friday night street dance doubled from last year.
“We couldn’t have had a better weekend,” Morgan said.
He said the changes made to include an opening ceremony with the processional of cars and tractors had “outstanding” public attendance.
“I couldn’t believe how many people were there for it,” Morgan said.
He said there were approximately 4,000 people in attendance during the Swingin’ Medallions performance Saturday night.
“I thought everyone just thoroughly enjoyed the Swingin’ Medallions,” Morgan said.
