This ranking was the conclusion of 2008 study by J. D. Power and Associates. Microtel is the only brand in the hotel industry to have received this recognition seven consecutive times.

The 2008 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study is based on responses gathered between June 2007 and June 2008 from more than 53,000 guests who stayed in a hotel between May 2007 and June 2008.  Microtel outperformed competitors in six out of seven key guest satisfaction measures including reservations, check-in/check-out, guestroom, hotel services, hotel facilities, and costs and fees.
