Beaufort cops return Rincon runaway

A Rincon runaway was found in Beaufort County, S.C., last Thursday when police also captured two burglary suspects she was with at the time.

The 15-year-old was found with Michael Milam, 29, of Bluffton, and Jessie Thomas, 18, of Hilton Head, in Milan’s gold Nissan Altima at the Pantry convenience store on Arrow Road on Hilton Head Island. The two men had allegedly stolen two computers from Giant Auto Transport on Hilton Head’s New Orleans Road on Wednesday.

After questioning the men, the officers found the computers in a dumpster. Each one is valued at $600.

Milam and Thomas were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and grand larceny. Milam also faces the charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with the runaway.

According to Capt. Mike Bohannon of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, the minor was released by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s to her parents.

Milam and Thomas are in custody at the Beaufort Detention Center. Milam has a $40,000 bond and Thomas has a $75,000 bond.
