The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person who has a diminished mental and physical capacity.

Mayra Armendarez, 28, of Rincon was last seen Saturday night at approximately 10 p.m., walking down Oglethorpe Road in the Westwood Heights Subdivision wearing blue jeans, and a long black shirt. She is 5-foot-2 and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

“We’re hoping someone will recognize her,” sheriff’s spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor said. “We’re concerned about where she is.”

Armendarez does not speak English, which makes the search more difficult, Ehsanipoor said, though her family does speak English.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 754-3449.
