Effingham County voters are invited to attend two candidate forums tonight and tomorrow night at the Mars Theater in Springfield.

The Republican candidates for County Commission Chairperson, County Commission District 1 and District 4 and scheduled for April 17.

Republican candidates for Clerk of Superior Court and Tax Commissioner are set for April 18, along with nonpartisan candidates for School Board District 3, State Court Judge, and District Attorney.

“These are forums, not debates. There will not be any ‘gotcha’ moments, as our sole purpose is to educate and inform chamber members and the greater business community during this important election,” said Susan Kraut, CEO of the Effingham Chamber of Commerce.

Doors to the theater will open at 4 p.m., with the forums beginning promptly at 5 both nights.
