Guyton – “Loving Wife…best Mom in the world…amazing and loving Mimi,” Misty Lively Edwards, 48, was called Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. Misty was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 14, 1974, to Coley and Janie Lively and lived in Effingham County for years. 

She was a faithful member of Pineora Baptist Church, where she enjoyed helping in the nursery. Misty was Always willing to help anyone, she was a kind and selfless person who had a heart of gold and loved her family more than life itself. She spent countless hours working with and advocating for cancer awareness and suicide prevention.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Coley and Janie Lively; and brother, Tony Lively.

Survivors include: her husband, Mike Edwards; children, Karleigh Butler (Ross) of Bloomingdale, Lacy Hively of Guyton, Mackena Edwards of Guyton, and Cole Edwards of Guyton; granddaughter, River Jane Butler; brother, Joey Lively (Shelly) of Guyton; mother-in-law, Linda Edwards of Guyton; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on February 2. A funeral service was held on February 3 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial followed at the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery
