Three Springfield residents qualified Monday for the city council election.

Allen “Butch” Kieffer qualified to defend his seat, one of three up for election this year. The other two seats are held by Max Neidlinger and Dennis Webb.

Troy Lamar Allen and Timothy Uzupan also qualified to run for city council Monday. As of 4:15 Monday afternoon, neither Neidlinger nor Webb had done so.

Qualifying for Springfield’s municipal elections continues through Friday. City council also will have to appoint someone to fill the unexpired term of Ron Boatright, who resigned earlier this month. Boatright’s term runs through 2009.
